   Neither one includes a battery at all. They are tool-only deals.

   I see that now. Was looking at the specs in the last link and saw the singular term 'battery' and skimmed the thought of one batt.

   Is it really considered that good of a deal without a battery?

   Not that great of a deal. But it's nice to be able to get it a-la-carte if you want.I'm glad you can get it without a battery. I don't need another charger, and two batteries from my drill driver kit is enough to keep me going. I see one on ebay with one battery and a charger for 175, but I think they normally go for about 240. With two batteries about 340.You can buy standalone batteries for about 100 bucks I think. Steve

   You missed the HD black friday deal, I guess... LXT211 combo pack, impact and hammer drill, 2 batteries, hard plastic case, $199.

   These are usually cheaper if you buy a combo kit, then sell off the pieces you don't want. Watch ebay if you're not in immediate need, I was seeing LXT407 combo kits for around $350 before the holidays... or use the live.com cash rebate.

   Me and one of my journeymen were talking about tools. I told him that I had a bit of a tool habit, I owned about two of everything. He said, "Yah, I used to be just like you, I bought all kinds of stuff that I really don't use alot". I told him that I already had most of what I wanted, but I did want a good impact driver for work. He asked me why, and I said that they have much more torque and are faster. He replied with the funniest thing I've ever heard. " You don't need it. Just save your money. If you want faster, just run up the stairs to work instead of walk!" I can't remember that last time I laughed so hard!

   I buy most of my stuff off Amazon.

   Amazon>Tools auto and industrial>Power and hand tools

   Then type into the amazon search bar Dewalt bare tools for example.
