Mike,
We like the snow! March is usually the month with the most SNOW ,for us.
Waiting for the Big One!
Here is one from this past Sunday,of Jr. enjoying being on top of the World!
March is a tossup here.It could be very mild all month, (with the exception of the annual spring wind/thunder/rainstorms), and lead to a long summer...Or it could be cold and snowy clear into April. The year I moved out here, it was already in the 80's by april 2nd. Long summer. Followed ny the wettest winter they had ever seen here. That winter was warm, but we had 3 days in 3 months in which we did not have heavy rains.

We didn't have winter here, except for a one day ice storm. It's been dry, dry, dry, and mild. Sunny! Mild. Glad that we have a week of rain this week. We are headed for drought if it doesn't start raining and not stop for a few weeks.I'm planting lettuces later this week. Daffies are up and busting, flowering trees are coming out and spring is here.

Sounds like my kind of winter !!: )At the end of january/beginning of february, we had almost a couple weeks of clear skies, and temps in the 50's. I thought spring was already sproinging. Then we had all that snow, and the temps got as low as I have seen here, for more than two weeks. Now, we have the temps in the low 50's at the warmest part of the day again.Been cloudy and rainy the past couple of days, but before that, it was clear again, for a little over a week.So far, even with the change to rainy, we are keeping the 40's and 50's. Maybe spring is sproinging. And maybe mother nature is just trying to catch me off guard again. LOL

Mike,
The Cape got off relatively easy this time - only 6 to 8 inches around here. But here are some pictures from the Jan 23rd blizzard when we got 30+ inches. Free Sancho Ron's BananaBunker!!!
So you have an Aussie? I saw him/her in your pictures. What a cutie! We have one of our own too! But he's a black tri, not a merle like yours. What's his/her name?
Here's a few pics of ours...Bennie. Sorry this is off topic! He's sleeping in both pics but don't be fooled. He's a bundle of energy!
We got about 5" last night and this morning in SE Michigan.

Don't you just love the Aussies! His name is Harley and he truns three next week. We have a female named Daisy who's a black tri like Bennie. She'll be 6 in Sept. They are definitely the best dogs we've ever had. Here's a picture of the two of them.Free Sancho Ron's BananaBunker!!!
Hey Crash..here is my aussie as a pup..he has some border collie in the mix too..heeeeeerssssss EDDDDYYY...LOL

Sphere,
Oh man what a cutie! He has the little Aussie brown kisses over his eyes. You can tell by the look on his face that he's going to have a lot of "personality". What a great pup. Congratulations!Free Sancho Ron's BananaBunker!!!
here is one of my aussies
hubcap,
What a great looking Aussie! I love the blue eyes. Isn't it amazing how often you see Aussies now in ads and on TV. Yet a lot of people still don't know what they are. They are amazing animals but not for everyone. They are "high powered" dogs and you really need to know what you're doing. Great looking dog!Free Sancho Ron's BananaBunker!!!

Crash..he will be 5 in apr. He is a truely cool dog. Smart as a whip, and full of vim and vigor. He/we did his schooling at 8 weeks, the instructer was amazed at his attn.span (not mine) and recommended service work...search and rescue or some such.Just ask Gunner, Greeencu or Imerc..they have all met him.I'll be devastated when he is no longer. Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks Restoring, Remodeling, Reclaiming The Quality..

Happy to hear Barry is getting along!

Gawd, hope nobody says blueberry around my sister. I made the mistake of enlightening her about the location of a local U-pick-it blueberry place last year. She made 2 visits (with her family). I think they ended up picking around 75lbs of berries.
And she was talking about not getting enough of them.jt8

I love blueberries.
About 10 years ago we bought 12 plants and put them in the ground. Seemed like that first couple of years they didn't do anything, not even leaf out. Then life kind of redirected us away from them and we forgot all about them. Last January when we had that warm spell I started up that walk behind brush hog and started mowing the field next to the house. That field was loaded with black raspberry and wild roses. I had mowed over one of the blueberry bushes and got stopped before I got to the next one when I realized what I was mowing down. I very carefully mowed around the other 11 and cleaned by hand were I couldn't get with the mower. They are doing great now. If I get a nice crop off of these I think I will plant some more.
Now if I don't get to bed there isn't going to be much getting any thing done tomorrow.
DaneI will always be a beginner as I am always learning.
Growing up we had a couple blueberry plants, but they never amounted to more than a couple berries a year. Not a real going concern.
The U-pick-it place has acres and acres of them. Maybe I'll loan her my camera and take a pic of them this year when she goes.

Dane, where in VA? I left Rke May '03. Miss my mtns.
When are you coming back home?
I am about 45 miles south west of Roanoke in Floyd county. When I look out the bedroom window I looking into Montgomery county.
I was born and raised in south west MI, between, and a bit north of, K'zoo and Battle Creek. A little cross roads town call Hickory Corners. I don't miss that dang white cold stuff one bit.
Your not all that far from Kacy (UBuildIt house thread) are you?
Dane I will always be a beginner as I am always learning.

that's it, talk about visually pleasing items and then don't give us a pic.
Geeze, Dane is still getting snow?! Sheeze. I've already mowed my grass 3 times. Been strange weather the last couple years.

Geeze, we haven't seen snow in months. Been 50-80's for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I've already mowed the grass once. It was like 83 here today.

I feel your pain. I think we got another 11" here. I'm so sick of it. I got smart this time and brought home material so I can build a couple of bulkhead doors. At least it's not a coplete waist of a day. I kept putting of this kit / add. job so I could get a bunch of smaller dam./ext. trim jobs done, and hey it was nice out in december and january! lol. Now mother nature keeps chasing me and bitting me in the arse! Not to bring up the past but remember the april fools day storm? Time to start the snow blower

Wish we had more snow - I could use a break.
Last week when I came in, I had 4 quotes and 2 orders to work on. I didn't even figure I'd get a full week in.
Yesterday I came in and had 13 quote and 15 orders. Don't know how I'm gonna get it all done.
Even during the busiest summer, I rarly get more than a TOTAL of 20 things to work on. So this is unusual.
One of the jobs really ticked me off. The GC tells me he needs shop drawings immediately. But he doesn't need trusses for 8 weeks. I ask why the rush, and he says the architect wants 6 weeks for shop drawing approval. Real nice.
We didn't do as badly as expected- we only got 5-6".
Have my van, wife's car, and drive done, just gotta do the front walk.
Was supposed to install a window today with another contractor ( his job) -I'm waiting for him to call. We were supposed to do it last week, but the previous storm dealyed that.
That new driver must be gettin' a little lonely.
snow today-snow tomorrow
beats rain i guess
Wow...yers came with lawn furniture too..must be planning on stickin around awhile.Remember the old SNL skit with Chase and Belushi? Some places March comes in like an Emu, and leaves like a koalla..some places it comes in like a giant anteater and leaves like an anaconda...too funny.

Not enough for our tastes. But, we are in ski country.
12" expected as a total, but we wouldn't mind 24 to 30.
I skiied yesterday with my cousin, from 9 until 2. Fabulous conditions! Our legs were like jelly.
This new snow should make things pretty nice for the World Cup Snowboarding Freestyle Championship being held here this coming weekend.
Well Happy St. David's Day, leeks all around for the sons & daughters of Cymru.
It's 49º heading for 67º, with mostly clear (10% o/c) skies. Supposed to hit mid 60's tomorrow with a chance of rain up from the Gulf. Snowfall for the year, 0 inches, which is 0.0 inches above normal. The rain for the years is just shy of 4" above normal.
Cap
You beat me to it!
I was just going to tell Mike that it was 72 here today, seen plenty of golfers at the country club as I drove by.
Were in the same boat as you are with the snow fall, 0.0 so far, as the weeks pass its a safe bet to stay that way.
Doug

Yeah, and the snow last year was south of both of us, down Victoria way. Victoria!? Who'da thunk it?
Wet and miserable today--real Water Department weather.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Slightly further north of you in VT:
we had about 10" when I went out to work this morning and we were blessed with probably another 3 or 4 through the day, so, let me see...let's get out the construction calculator and - I get - dangit !!! batteries need a jump...
sunny and 60 here today, tomorrow 66 light morning raind tapering off by early afternoon...
probably didnt want to here that hunh?
