I’m interested in the Rastra product and wondered if anyone on line has experience in building with it? Seems like their not quite in the limelight anymore. A couple of building magazines had feature articles on houses built using the Rastra concept although lately there seems to be less mention of it. Has anyone done a comparison price/materials breakdown?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Retrowood,
Have you tried posting this question on "Breaktime," the Fine Homebuilding forum? Many Breaktime visitors are builders and may have more experience with Rastra.

Yes, I double posted it and have received a couple replies. I then did a search and came up with plenty of replies although nothing too encouraging.

Don't know what the problem is. It performs just as they say it will. Rastra, Performwall and one other are similar. Slurry of styro beads and cement. Much better than any other ICF. Requires very little bracing.
Drawbacks. Heavy. Need some type of small crane. 10' piece is 300 lbs. Better make sure that the rough-ins are perfect. No margin for error.
