I’ve been asked to install crown molding, chair rail, colonial baseboard and “faux panels” (picture frame molding) in a dining room. The lady of the house asked me if I could install inside corner molding to fancy it up a bit more.
She showed me a picture where the crown molding met an inside corner molding, but the inside corner molding extended from the ceiling downwards only several inches. It ended in a finial.
Now, to my question. What’s this type of inside corner molding called? The customer is actually making my work easier (no coping) and getting something that she thinks looks better, but I don’t know what to look for if I don’t know what it’s called.
Thanks,
Don

An "upcharge". ;)
A simple one w/o the finial is called a Crown Block in the Moulding & Millwork, Inc catalogue.
Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Aha, crown block. Seems so obvious now. Thanks.
