I am a maintenance supervisor responsible for repairing the exteriors of townhomes and condos. We frequently have to replace old masonite siding, using Hardie siding. I want to use a nail gun. Which one is best? Can I use a roofing gun? Framing gun? Should I use a specific siding nail gun?

If your talking about fiber cement - most folks tend to use coil nail guns designed specifically for siding. They generally run for around $350. It's very easy to adjust the depth of drive for the nail with these guns.
I have a Max Nailer Super Sider gun that I like pretty well.
I think I remember Mike Smith saying he uses a coil roofer with stainless nails. Hitachi maybe...
I've used all three. I prefer
I've used all three. I prefer the roofing gun just because I already own one. You are not supposed to use ring shank nails, but I've worked for several people who have, and so far so good.
Another vote for the Max sider. I can't remember ever having a jam.
I guess I'm thinking of
I guess I'm thinking of having some versatility if I can succesfully use a roofing nailer for instance, and not having to own several guns.
