I am installing in-wall speakers in my boss’s house and I need to know how to install the speaker cable. I am installing two speakers which will each need wire run from the receiver to the speaker. He has told me that I will need to run the wire from the receiver, into the wall, then under the floor, than back up through the floor under where the speaker is located. The speakers are being installed on the inside of an exterior wall, and he has told me that there is a cement foundation directly under the wall surrounding the entire house. I am trying to find out what the best way is to run the speaker cables from the receiver into the wall to the speakers (which will be about 10-20 feet away from the receiver). If anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate it greatly!!! Thank you.

There should be a space between the top of the foundation and that wall. The area the floor joists take up usually leave enough room to drill up through the floor and through the bottom plate of the wall. Hopefully if stack framed, the studs in the wall line up with the joists below. If the joists run paralell, you still should be able to drill up into the wall. The goal is to drill properly so you don't come up through the floor and are in the stud space you wanna be. If you measure well, you should be alright. If the floor is carpeted, you could drive a nail where the basebd meets the carpet and locate below. After you drill the holes the hard part comes fighting the insulation, any blocking, other wires and whatever else is there to screw you. Best of luck. I might ask you "the boss of what"? If he's a carpenter or electrician, suggest he drill and you do the helping. Again, best of luck.
