Anyone have new ideas on installing t&g 1×8 car siding. Face nail at studs, tongue nail only or both? Or should this stuff be able to move some?

OK, I give up! What's "car siding"?
*Matt , its just T&G 1x , usually SYP around here . It has a Vee groove in the center and the joint creates another Vee groove so it looks like 1x4 's , very similar to Boston siding except T&G instead of shiplap . I think they used to use it to line railroad cars , hence the name . Chuck
*What kind of climate do you live in? How protected from the elements is the siding going to be? What species of wood is it? What type of finish are you planning to put on it? What do other folks in your area do? - jb

I have done 3 ceilings in 1x8 car siding. The first I face nailed, the last two I blind nailed the tongue. I've had no problems with either and here in Minnesota there are considerable temp and humidity variations. I varnished the boards before installation the last two times also-much easier. I found that a spreader like Vise Grip quick clamp type comes in handy for persuading unruly boards to line up.
