Does anyone have experience with installing insulated panels? I plan on installing them myself on my timberframe home and looking for advice.

Mark,
Most of the SIP suppliers offer technical assistance, so check with them. BTW - what type panel do you plan to use? (ie. OSB/foam/OSB, OSB/foam/drywall, OSB/foam/OSB/drywall,etc.....) Found out recently that panels( osb/foam/osb/drywall) used on walls have a tendency to develop hairline cracks in the drywall due to settling. My GC plans to use the osb/foam/osb panels on the walls and then leave a 5/8 inch gap between the panel and timberframe when installing. Then, he slides the drywall in place on the inside later, perpendicular to the panels. (Panels installed vertically, dryway installed horizontally.) They find this eliminates the cracks.
Plan for thicker panels on roof (atleast 7") to eliminate panel creep. Also, the drywall cracking was only a problem on the walls not roof. Evidently there wasn't as much settling/pressure on the roof panels to cause the cracks. He uses osb/foam/drywall panels on the roof.

Mark, I have installed them on timber frames. What kind of questions do you have? Please post or email me. Thanks.
