I have a cathedral ceiling made of 2×6 tongue and grove pine. On top of that is 2 inches of styrofoam, with roofing felt and then comp shingles. Has anyone out there ever done a reroof on something like this? I want to reroof with a metal roof and also get the r-value up to something like 30.
Thanks

2" of styro.. say maybe R10 - R15..
the whole assembly say R15.. go outside on the roof deck and install EPS / OSB panels , say 3" for another R15...
(so R15 +R15 = the R30 you're looking for )....
screw the panels down with plates and screws into the framing.. install you steel roof over this...all you need is an extended fascia/roof edge..to cover the thicker roof
