I put in an oil-fired boiler and zoned hydro-air system a few years back. I oversized the boiler for the major addition we are doing now. I am REALLY glad I picked hydro-air.
We will have 2 additional zones with separarte air handlers/condensor units. The problem is their remote locations. I imagine that running boiler water over some distance (as much as 60′ in my case) would cause a lot of energy loss. The standard closed-cell foam sleeves just won’t cut it.
Does anyone know of copper piping that is already super-insulated, or a manufacturer of high r-value insualtion which can be applied to the pipe runs? I know this must exist, I just don’t know who manufactures it.
Thanks in advance!
