Hello I am new here but I am a Professional builder and would like to hear from other
builders who have experience with blown celullose or fibre glass insulation in wall cavities for new construction. We are from a northern area and I have heard that despite suppliers assurances this product does settle over time. I could not acxcept this as we would get sur frost lines or worse.
appreciate your knowledge

I know here in southern alberta blown cellulose is pretty popular in the attics, but bat insulation seams to be the way alot of home builders are still going, but i can see things slowly starting to change. A brother of a friend of mine does blown cellulose and said that its really popular in renos to add to existing insulation in attics.
You can get dense pack cellulose (I think--don't know if that's only for new construction where the stud bays are open) and that will settle less. I think there is also cellulose that is mixed with something like glue that sort of holds it in place. There is also something called "Aircrete" which dries into a matrix like a thre-dimensional web and it wouldn't pack down. I'm hoping more people here will see your question and give you better answers.
My experience is minimal....
If you dense pack cellulose, it will not settle (it is already denser than what it would settle to).
Dense packing is easy to do.
It is also easy to not do it right. There are blowing machines that will not dense pack. You need a machine that allows adjustment of the cellulose/air ratio.
