I am looking into building a simple, small house in Tucson, AZ using surface bonded blocks. What are my options for insulation? Seem like insulating the core is the best. Applying insulation to the outside requires me to stucco the outside again negating the cost savings from the initial surface bonding cement on the blocks. What options give me the lowest cost/highest R-value?
