I’m putting on an addition to my home. Looking for advice on insulation. I’m on Lake Erie and get severe winters. I’m doing closed cell spray foam in the walls. Should I vent the soffit and insulate the ceiling joists or close the soffit off and spray foam the roof deck? Not sure about having the small space between the ceiling joists and roof truss as unvented dead space. Thoughts?
