First time poster.
I am renovating a nearly 100 year old house. I do not have a need to “rip out” all of the existing paster walls, but I am in need of insulation. I had done some research and I cam upon Icynene, which advertises itself as an excellent alternative for old homes that need insulation.
I spoke with one of the sales guys earlier today and he informed me that their product is not a good option for my house. Given that the construction most likely includes fire blocks and the lathe plaster system there is nothing they can do for me. While I appreciated his honesty, I am struggling to believe that I don’t have any optons.
Any thoughts? What about this cementitious foam? Cellulose?

cellulsoe can be blown from the inside, and pathc the plaster.. or from the outside and patch the siding..
any good cellulose insulation contractor can do this..
most insulation contractors work with fiberglass.. look around until you find a cellulose contractor

Hard to beat cellulose for cost/benefit.
Very surprised the icynene folks turned you down. A rep told me they can drill a 1/2 hole and fill any cavity.
Typically, the bulk of heat loss is convective, and through the attic, not the walls.
Start by air sealing up there for best cost/benefit. If you have a leaky attic plane, insulating the walls is a waste of time and money.
