Any of you guys have an L.L.C. what does that cover, If I’m a one man company do I need workmans comp. Help me out here I’m trying to be legal all the way thanks

I'll admit to not really knowing for sure, but I have an S-corp and pay for a separate disability policy. Seems I've heard a few times that because I do that, I don't need to pay for WC.
Also have an accident policy on top of my health insurance plan.

I think you are explaining it from your point of view and forgetting the buyers point of view. Texas is very similar to MI, where you are regarding the one man bands. Legally, we do not have to provide WC for our employees here. But....they legally can sue the homeowner for injuries suffered on the job! And...we can get dragged into the suit as a third party!Thats what my Texas lawyer told me. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
If you are starting a business to contract with the public, I recommend you have an attorney or CPA help you get set up. I have no idea about the work comp or sales tax laws in MA but I'm sure there are things you need to know.
