So I bought 1 million biz insurance coverage, felt great and two weeks into it I get cancelled, cause they don’t like the fact that I work from home.They would cover me if I had a store front, which I never want, cause I like working at home, taking a break to pet the dog, jump in the pool at breaktime, enjoy my life. So my agent tells me they will try to find someone else who will cover me . We’ll see . Why is this a concern to them?

I install voice and data cabling and telephone systems. I carry $1M general liability, and having a home office has never been an issue for me. Like me, I assume that you do a good portion of your work in the customer's premises. Also, I would think that your work would involve less risk than mine, so I can't imagine why you're having a problem keeping insurance.

Don't be afraid to talk to different agents. Some agents are great at health insurance. Others are great at life insurance. Others do business insurance and some claim they do, but don't, until you show up.

My agent had no prob with my home office; since 1999. I have The Hartford; been pleased with them, and had the same agent throughout - an Indian gal in Atlanta named Mamta.
I have a 2-mil policy, and a worker's comp policy. Never filed a claim; never plan to.
