…approaching the tail end of a bedroom remodel in my home. I am about to install the new doors (pre-hung interior)and eventually, a new hardwood floor.
Can anyone give their opinion on what the final gap between the bottom of doors and the new floor should be? Noise transmission and airflow are not a concern, since the doors are louvered.
Thanks

I don't like much of a gap. mainly because of noise. Depends on the situation, as you mentioned the venting and noise aren't going to factor for you so I'd go about 1/2 inch. If you go with a small gap, say a quarter inch give or take, make sure the floor is level first-or the door could scrape it as it swings.
*I do not like much gap either, but consider if there will/may be a throw rug, bath mat etc. on the floor. That is why I choose 3/4". I find the door will clear most floor coverings at that height.walk gooddavid
*Good point David, throw rugs don't work too well in my houses.MD
*I'd say 3/8" max unless you have to clear a rug.Ed.
