interior doors . com

| Posted in General Discussion on June 13, 2005 08:37am

Found some interior doors on-line in a style that suited the project … simple flat stiles & rails with a rail about 1/3 from the floor … looks like office doors from many years ago.  The price was in my budget, so I got a quote from interiordoors.com and placed the order.  Quote said 4-6 weeks to ship.

Today starts the 6th week.  I have politely asked about every other week if they had a projected ship date.  Last word I got, early last week, was that they were not shipping early and no date was available.  Noiw they won’t even respond to my emails.  I can’t believe that the factory doesn’t have some idea when they will be made.  Surely they plan a run of doors in a wood species and try to balance the factory work load.  I can’t believe that one morning the shop foreman decides to make a certain style in a certain species.  There has to be more planning than that.

Only good news is that, so far, it has not slowed the project, and I paid with a credit card so I ncan get all my money back.

I’m sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

we are seeing similar problems with some exteior doors. Was supposed to be 6 weeks, paid in advance as custom, at week 9 we were told 2 more weeks, now nearly 12 weeks after placing original order , we are told 3 more weeks.

Ilooked at their site and didn't find what I was looking for. I also wasn't to fond of there site. Do you or any one have a good source on craftsmen style of interior doors. Good luck on getting the doors. I firmly think that if they don't respond to your calls to the ..... with them. They can play the net and sell there stuff, but we have the nets grapevine to spred the word of their service.

I talked with the special order guy at my local full-service lumber yard, and they could order quite a variety of nice doors.  They were a little pricier, but they had one that would have worked well.  Who knows ... I might have to order one.

I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

I'm telling you from experience.  Count your losses, get your money back and find your doors elsewhere.  If they are jerking you aroung like that, move on!
