Interior French door latching options
I have French doors opening into a wide, narrow closet (i.e., a pair of 2-0 x 6-8 HC slab doors) with standard closet pool/shelf interior. Each door has a dummy lockset and is held in closed position with a spring-loaded ball latch at the top. This arrangement works well to access the closet because both doors are equally active. However it is hard to adjust the ball latches to the correct pressure so that the door stays closed without requiring a strong (and noisy) jerk to open. Anyone have any suggestions for a different latching system? Thanks in advance.
