Whats the most efficient way you’ve found to tape and cover the windows when painting?
Seems like painters plastic is just a pain to use (to me) and tape over the windows.
Do you have any special, time saving techniques?
Or is it just grin and bear it?

Spraying yes.
The windows will be stained, and I am not confident overspray will not end up on the wood, therefore I want to protect them.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't spray. I finish the window first as it's easier to clean paint off a finish than bare wood. Beyond that, tape your edges with http://www.frogtape.com/ then, tape your plastic or paper to that.YMMV
