I’m going to be rewiring my 100 yr old victorian room by room. Knob and tube to romex. My question is this. I am concened about running all those hidden lines of regular romex over lathe, nails, sharp corners, etc. and being unable to nail them to the studs because they are behind walls and ceilings. So I was thinking about using exterior grade romex in the areas that I cant get to and was wondering other than the pain of stripping exterior romex is there a downside to this. I think the added time of stripping is worth the peace of mind of the added toughness of exterior romex. Thanks for the help, Chuck

The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.
