I’m having trouble finding a hardware item – a stair rail brace, typically L-shaped that is attached to the bottom of an interior stair rail and, at the other end, to the skirt along the bottom of the rail of the next floor. I’ve seen iron braces, as described, used to firm up long stair rail runs, but haven’t succeeded in finding anyj.
