Is blown insulation a good idea?

I have just removed the 50’s siding from my 110 year old Victorian.  The original siding is in fine shape.  My question is; how should I insulate the walls?  I am concerned about the effects of moisture on blown in cellulose and don’t know if I can afford Iconyne (spelling?)
