I saw a police car with a a ladder on top. It struck me as rather unusual. It happened to pull up next to me at a light. When I got a closer look, the ladder made a lot more sense. But I still gotta wonder…
By the way, their motto is “get nailed by the roofing squad”. Real classy.

now THAT's marketing.....need them or not, you will remember who they are and no worse than those phony rent a cops
<G>
I'm not flippin' you off.........just counting cubits
Your standard of living will eventually diminish to your standard of buying. Think about it.
I like it !
If I remember correctly as long as you don't have blue lights you're okay.
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
I knew a guy in Bristol, RI who used an old rescue for his truck and called his business the House Medic. Pretty savvy. I think even having the lights and whatnot are probably legal; until you turn them on. I see a few old cop cars at car shows that still have red/blue gumballs and don't seem to get harassed....maybe it depends on the locality, or the attitude of the driver.:)Bing
Legal? sure.
Tacky? Heck yes. I don't like it (but I'm a picky traditionalist).
There's a local cab company that uses the slogan "None Left Behind" with big letters on the side of the cab. How does a cab company have anything to do with a school program?

Did it say "NO ONE" left behind?
Might be a military reference... i.e. "no one gets left behind" (enemy lines) ???

"no child left behind" is the school program. I'm pretty sure it's a reference to that.
Yep, that part I knew.It makes more sense to me that the cab company was making reference to the military mantra of "no one gets left behind".Or maybe they are big fans of "Lilo and Stitch"! :-) OHANA!

It's also the last line of a common Buddhist prayer - although I think it's a stretch to think they got it from there.
Hummers, fake cop cars, guys by the edge of the road dressed in weird outfits. Not businesses I tend to gravitate towards.

There is a plummer in my area who drives an ambulance. He calls himself the Drain Doctor. He's a very good plummer and that ambulance makes a good work van for him. Come to think of it, I've seen another private citizen around town driving an old police car. She doesn't run a business so the car is just the plain black and white. The police logo has been removed but you can see where it was, and the lights have been removed. I am no lawyer, but if it is legal for the police departments to sell their old cars and it is legal for people to buy them and to advertize their businesses on their vehicles than I would think it is perfectly legal. Even if I think the "Get nailed by the roof squad" is tacky. I think the Drain Doctor fits the plummer pretty well, and you can't legislate taste. Roofers are a different breed anyway.
Maybe he knows this guy -
