I heard a news story about that. It's a Linux based system,. so, since he mentions Win2000, it might not be right foir him. There are emulators for win based programs, but from eveything I understand, one would end up spending more time on tweaking them than working with them. But heck, it's still better than an App.... er, never mind {G}I'm tempted ...I don't know if they're stocking them yet - I might swing by this afternoon for a stocking stuffer ....

Was it supposed to have those things? If yes, seller needs to be beaten with a deputy or two. If no, then you might be better off.
Brand new battery is actually better with a "pre owned" laptop (you get to condition the battery your own self).
Just found a pile of sources for adaptors: http://www.priorityelectronics.com/laptopacadapter/dellacadapter.htm (used "AC power adapter Laptop" in google).
Since you have a pigs ear instead of a silk purse, you could make it into a wallet instead--I use, and prefer, a USB external CD burner with my laptop. Driveaway was under $100 and that was more than two years ago. Whoa, TDK for $40: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1112198&CatId=478
the tag on the bottom says 133MHZ and 32 RAM.....
no CD at all only A drive...
not what was advertized..
CC company stopped payment....
now to go the gambit with ebay...
any body done this before...

Yep. Only the once.
Rat them out every which way. Go back to the austion and get the seller information for the location of the seller. You then need to look up the email address for the prosecutor for that jurisdiction. You may not get any traction with that worthy unless/untill several complaints pile up on his desk. (This is a new "thing," a local can create excess work for the local prosecutor by just being a hoodlum online; prosecutors happen to have ways to get back at people who make them work--hard to cry for them, too.)
While you are googling, you might want the local Chamber of Commerce & BBB if the duud is running a local business.
The eBay Fair Trade deal methods will get the current handle for the sleezbag offline; you really need to harangue them where they live, though.
Lastly, the local JP might (stress might) allow you to begin a small claims action against the bozo. This may have little effect. But, unanswered bench warrants can turn into state warrants, which can make for dicey traffic stops. "Sir, are you aware that you have an outstanding warrant in Colorado? Out of the car please."Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Sounds very simple... If your credit card co kicked the charge back effectively they are SOL. I've been there more than once. Just ship it back to them (even if they refuse to accept the package) so you can demonstrate your effort and forget it. Leave some terrible feedback on Ebay and chalk it up to the ever increasing number of creeps.
that'll be the opening salvo...
