folks,
For my general knowledge I’m interested in learning about more of the small to mid-size construction companies that work and/or have their office/shop near where I live in Seattle, specifically:
Prestige Custom Builders
Joseph McKinstry Construction
Andrews Bay Builders
Edifice Construction
and if anyone else has suggestions of roughly central Seattle companies I’d like to hear them, if you’ve hired them, worked for them, or sold to them.
chrs, GO

George, I lived in Seattle for a little while and worked with Andy and Mark Houston/Idea Builders, and Jeff Knudsen/Knudsen Construction & Design. Both companies were small and fairly new in 1995. Let me know if you want more info.
*George- I worked for O'Downing McKay on a few projects. They have an office on Capitol Hill (Roanoke St. I think). They do a lot of high-end work and some time and materials projects I think. Quality minded and laid back crews from my experience. Matt
*thanks for the info Matt and Mike,GO
I would be interested in why and what you want to know about these companies. I live in Seattle .
me too (renton, gobs of vinyl shacks going up where the sewer line was recently extended and the land annexed by the local mafiso)
PS: got a phone call like this recently, told'em to get lost, seemed like a trial ambulance chaser calling. "

hey guys,
sorry, I haven't looked at this forum in a while. I posted that first ISO message before the site change; yeah JH, I just noticed that about my profile when you mentioned it. The old site would show some of your recent messages as a kind of history when you clicked on your name. I guess this site doesn't. actually I've been reading and posting here for over a year.
Quimby, I work as an apprentice for a remodeler in Seattle and I'm learning about the companies in the area. We work mostly north of the ship canal, though I live in the CD. I feel that it's important to learn about the business and market climate and history in the city I work in. That's all.
I guess looking back on that first message you can interpret it different ways, so I probably should revise the question somehow. Looking for this kind of information seems to be kind of hit or miss so far.
best, GO
