As some of you already know my house was destoryed by fire last June. It has been almost a year and the rebuild has been slow but for the most part steady. You can see all the work that I’ve done so far at my site www.constructionforumsonline.com. I’d like to be in by September, I hope 😉
Joe.

So I see the shop, but where's the house? Glad to hear everything's cool, and that now all the kids have a room of their own<G> Don't worry, we can fix that later!

coupla years ago my sisters house burned down ... or up .... ?
gas furnace in the basement ... leak of some sort .... big fireball pretty much straight up thru the roof. Lost pretty much everything.
coupla days later ... after the shock had finally come and gone ... she's sitting on the bed in the red cross hotel room ... looks up and says ...
"well, at least now we'll finally get matching furniture"!
she did the same thing ... rebuilt on the same foundation ... was a one story ranch ...
now a nice big 2 story with an open first floor.
Plus ... all the furniture matches!
keep an eye on the kids ... my youngest niece was 17, at the time.
24 now ... still "leary" of open flames.
U leave a candle burning and walk out of the room ... come back in ... it's snuffed out.
She never says a word ... no one bothers to ask if she even knows what she's doing ... we just don't expect any candles to stay lit around her!
She wasn't even home at the time ....
Might be affecting your kids in ways you don't see yet. Keep an eye on them ...
New house and plenty of hugs.

Thanks for the good words and yes Mike so far it’s turning out to be lemonade ;-). Jet didn’t add a level just taller ceilings on the first and second floors with a dormer or two in the attic.Piff, yes I used Pella and I’m quite happy with them. Jeff my youngest girl went around and unplugged all the lamps in the house we are staying in for the first 4 months. It was an electrical fire started from an old lamp cord that destroyed my old house. I think she’s over it now. . .
Glad to see you're landing on your feet, Joe. Best wishes to the family.
Is this your first fire rennovation? Insurance company been easy to deal with, Or have they fought you?
someday when you get the time, share up a "Waht I have learned..." thread. I gotta think that just like the event effects kids, it impacts adults too. God knows there are things that have changed me at times one way or another.
