We recently had our house painted and wood trim added above and below the windows and I think the wood trim just looks like an unpainted repair, help! The last two pictures are homes that I liked with the white paint, wood trim and black accents. Is my house just the wrong style? I would also like to add a cover over the front door like the one in the picture with the nice big wood beams, do you think that would tie it all together? Not sure how that would work with the roof line above the front door. Any ideas or suggestions?

My subjective opinion: The wood-look trim on the house in the 3rd picture looks about as much like an unfinished repair as it does on your house. The only difference I can think of is theirs has stucco siding and you have some lap board siding so yours is all boards and it might look like some are painted and some are not. Could always get it painted. Hang some white (or whatever color you want) paper on the trim with painter's tape, go out to the sidewalk, squint a little, and see if you like that better.
@nomorecoffee thank you, it was all white at first, needed some difference, might try a darker stain, appreciate the reponse!
