Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

My neighbor has two trucks that look like that.
Without the paint job, and in drastic need of rebuilding. But they look like the same year. 54-55 ??
That's what his are. 54 and 55 chevy's.
In this pic:View ImageI'm assuming that the "pegs" sticking up are welded to the red iron and are there to tie the slab to the structural steel. Is this right? How thick is the slab- will the pegs have sufficient concrete cover?

them there pegs are called "nelson Studs" they are weld to the red iron with a big generator type spot welder. I have to go back there and knock the #$^^&*( out of them to try to break them. havent yet. Concrete there is six inches
BB, how long a span will that corrogated steel handle with six inches of concrete? I'd like to span 20' for a two car garage floor.
BTW, what kind of hot rod do you drive? I'm a fan of custom cars, have been since I was about ten years old.
I owned a custom pickup truck for a couple years, '46 International with '61 Chrysler Newport headlights and a '61 Pontiac Catalina nose. Silver metallic Imron. Clearheart redwood running boards. Stake rack, the same.
