Hi! I have a customer that has a jacuzzi on the second floor. There is a 20 minute timer in series with the pump. I have no power at all going into the timer box. I checked all the GFI’s in the area and they all work. There is power at the circuit breaker box. Is there any trick to find were the fault took place? Here Illinois we are suppose to have a dedicated circuit going to the jaccuzi. Not sure if that would help you figure this out. Thanks Jay

Most hot tubs and Jacuzzis are fed with a 240V circuit. A 240V GFCI is required -- the regular wall outlet variety won't do it. The GFCI may either be in the breaker panel (special GFCI double pole breaker) or in the disconnect that should be somewhere near the Jacuzzi.
Most indoor bathroom type jaccuzi's tubs are fed by a 120 volt line. This a jaccuzi style bath tub. At least most of the one's I have seen and installed. I did not check if this is a 240 or 120 volt tub. I am to beleive it is a 120 volt jaccuzi because the wall timer breaks only one wire. Thanks Jay
For something like that they often use either a deadface GFCI or a GFCI breaker.A deadface GFCI looks like a GFCI receptacle, but it does not have a receptacle on it.If it is not visable in the bathroom (or possible behind the access panel {where it should not be anyway}) then look on in the rooms that but up to this area. I have hear them found in closets. There are tone tracers that can be used on unpowered circuits to trace them.
