I need to put some extensions around a few vinyl sliders for casing, and started thinking about gluing them on with some spring clamps and adhesive.Has any body here tried this and had success with any particular adhesive? (poplar extensions)

We've attached the extensions to the casing, done it up like a picture-frame, and then bonded it to the vinyl windows and wall with Tremco Proglaze and some nails through to the studs.

Kinda ambushed her there, huh Phil? Snuck up on her and before she knew it, she was trimmed out, like it or not.
I like that method, bass ackwards though it may seem. ;-)
Do you think I should have shared making extensions out of vinyl, attaching it to the casing with screws, bonding it to the window with UHU plastic adhesive (i.e. not the melting kind), and leving the gap between the extension on the window as an architectural detail ?
My trouble with vinyl is that it's crowned, has radiused edges, and often won't hold nails.

Phills got it. Prefab the picture frames and caulk them in place before nailing off to the framing.
