Hello,
Looking for plans or instructions on building a deep soaking tub, the wooden Japanese style is my favorite.
Thanks,
PPurdy
Engineered-stone shower panels are waterproof, but proper installation relies on tight seams and silicone sealing.

Wish I could help. There used to be a bunch of choices just googling "ofurû" or "ofuro" or "o-furo"--shoot, used to be some suppliers of white cedar tubs from Japan, but all of my links are dead today.
Which is a shame, as I have several plan fragments of just bathrooms predicated on now non-locatable items <sigh>.
Thanks for the feedback all.
Looked @ concrete-but i have concerns about weight- 2nd story master bath.

One thing I have wondered about is why people haven't tried (maybe they have and I haven't heard about it) using WEST System epoxy laminated wood veneers over a Styrofoam core. That would end up being light and very strong (Gougeon Brothers uses to make catamarans hulls that way), and would have the look of real wood. Could be very nice. People make canoes out of the epoxy/veneer without the foam core and the canoes look very nice.
I've been looking for one of these, but had ruled out wood. I love the look but decided the maintenance would be extremely high. So I've been considering copper, stainless steel, cast concrete etc.
Copper is going to be tricky, I don't think you would like it. Up keep will be a daily event.
SS will look like a pro sports jacuzzi.
take a look at silicon bronze, I built my range hood out of it. It has an interesting uniform look to it.
