One of our guys showed up to work with one. I wasn't real impressed. I think he took it to work one day and I haven't heard about it since. Looks like a gimmick to me. Might be handy if you are a trim carpenter/woodworker that needs to clamp stuff while you work on it, but I don't really see it for what we do. Then again, maybe that's because I am an old fart stuck in my ways.
I have the "original," an essentially identical vise made by Triton.
I've only had a few jobs where it was called upon, but it performed well in those uses. Doung electrical work, I usually use it to hold gutters and panes while I cut various holes in them- being able to open wide enough to lay the boxed flat is a major help.
It's also useful for gripping pipw if I have to clean excess plating off of threads; I would not use it to actually cut threads, though.
I saw the commercial then I saw the price. No saw horse is worth that, no matter what it does. Vic
