Jekyll Island Ga copper pipes / fitting corrosion
After inspection of the plumbing on a SFH and Duplex (1960s copper pipe Cast iron Sewers) I am torn between repiping and just replacing the stop valves that are corroded.
For those that have gone the valve replacement method (Solder / shark bite) any comments?
Not sure if pipe is L or M … is there a simple way to check a copper pipe to determine if it is at the end of service?

Can you see the pipe anywhere else? Around valves is a bad place to draw conclusions as they are always corroded. But, why not try to get a valve off and see what the pipe looks like then. I'd cut that trim off and look at it there a well. Down here in south Florida we have very corrosive water so repiping is an industry. Typically $6 to $10k including drywall repair but no paint.
We replace valves all the time and use compression 1/4 turns unless we just can't.
