Any feedback on their fiberglass entry doors? Compared to Therma-Tru? I realize the Therma-Tru quality issue has been beaten to death here, but how about Jeld-Wen Doors?
Thanx!

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

I gotta tell ya, I haven't been impressed with Jeld Wen anything lately. They aquired a lot of window/door companies the past few years and rolled everything under the Jeld Wen umbrella. I think they grew the company faster than they could control quality. I'm avoiding Jeld Wen like the plague and sticking with Andersen as much as possible. At least with Andersen, you get Andersen, not something that was Joe Blow Doorco two years ago and is now called Jeld Wen.
I like Andersen too, but they don't have any product for a front door application. They have their Architectural Series (Old KML) which are very nice, but also very expensive. We installed three Therma-Tru doors last week. One door had 2 of the 3 hinges not laying in the mortise of the jamb properly, the mortise was too small. One door had the jamb mortised for the keeper of the lockset in the deadbolt location. When I looked underneath the door slab to check the sill adjustment you could see light between the sweep and the door slab.I wish there was a quality, dependable product for front door replacements..View Image
Yeah, I've had some issues with QC on TT as well. The slabs are ok, but the assemblers must be drop outs from the fast-food industry. I've gotten to where I expect that about half of what I order from TT will get rejected (by me at the lumber yard) and I just plan jobs accordingly (i.e. order early and don't take the old door out until I have possession of a satifactory door).
I bought my nineteen-year-old house seven years ago. The few failed Jeld-Wen windows were long out of warranty. I contacted Jeld-Wen and they shipped me replacement double panes for about eighty bucks apice.
They could have told me to go fly a kite, but they took excellent care of me, a guy to which they owed nothing.

The new Jeldwen doors built by Brosco in the northeast are great we have not had any quailty control problems with them and we have install about 20 this last year
They are the same company that bought out the Frank Paxton Lumber Company and most of the people left or were fired. The material they brought in to sell was junk compared to what Frank Paxton, Jr. sold in his company.
