My old barrel grip Bosch is on its last legs – always thought I would just replace it with another Bosch – been hearing a lot of good things about the Metabo – any suggestions
Does the Metabo have the retractable base that allows for flush cutting that the new Bosch units advertise?
Currently trying to deciede between the Bosch 1587 and the Metabo STEB105 PLUS

Do a search.

Do not try this at home!
I am a trained professional!
I have had two top handle bosch jig saws and love them. The first one had the screw driver blade change but it was stolen. The new one has the clic loc blade change system and it seems kind of plastic and weak. I think that bosch has re-released the old screwdriver style and would recommend that type highly. Otherwise the bosch tool has been awesome. I am not familiar with the metabo.Good luck
i saw the new bosch cordless jigsaws at a show a couple months ago and they rock! the reps also said it should be about a year or so before the corded models are re-tooled for the superslick push lever instant blade change- makes me wish i was in the market for one but my 1587 is still like new.

Ive got the 1587 top handle jig saw. Love everything about it except the tool less blade change system. It's a pain in the arse to change the blades and if the blade breaks it usually takes forever to dig the broken piece out of the clamp. I've never used the metabo.
Don't overlook the Milwaukee 6266-21. It's made in Germany, an AEG dressed in red. Really slick blade changes (much easier than the Bosch), smooth, and plenty of power. I prefer it to the Bosch. The one complaint that I have is that the saw won't fit in the case with a blade on it. I haven't tried the Metabo.

Ditto 27055.3. Defently Bosch. Only problem is theft.
