How come you've been cleaning out your mag stash of late?

      <Having a midlife crisis or something?>

Three creative kids and a pack rat of a wife with a new business in a 5700 foot house.   Can you believe ten sofas/loveseats?  All antique, all nice, all used.  Eight antique beds restored and in use.  Three more perfect in the attic waiting for . . . something.

Forrest - kicking the kid gravel in front of me as I stumble through the house.

      1. Piffin | Dec 08, 2008 03:01pm | #9

with ten sofas it must take a awhile to decide where to bed down on those rare nights when the wife needs some breathing room to cool off.

Hey - slept on my favorite sofa last night - didn't mean to, but was having such cool banana republic / Spanish Civil War dreams I didn't want to miss anything!

Forrest - on my lovely Fridays off

What happens when the holiday falls on monday then? you make up for it on friday, or work a three day week?

Yes - a four X 10 week.  A good deal; the same number of hours of vacation and holiday off per year.

I'll go a buck a pop.  That should be, like, $84.

Don't tell my wife...  and if I do get 'em, try and make the packaging look like #### or something that won't set her off.

    k

edited note: wow- p_rn comes up as ####.  Just trying to make a joke about my tool catalog/ trade mag addictions.

I was serious about the bid though.

I know some members of the oldest profession. Think it would make a nice gift for them?

That'd be politicians. Don't want you thinking I pal around with any unsavory types.'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

I think I'd rather hang around with hookers. At least they're honest about who they're screwing, and how much they charge. <G>

Things are fine. We're gearing up to move to north Jersey in a month or so, so DW can take a job as the minister of a church up there.

Boy, have we accumulated a lot of #### here. I keep threatening that it would be easier to just burn the house down and start over, than move all our stuff.

I don't know what happens with our e-mails sometimes. Some of them go right to the deleted items; some never seem to come thru. We've probably got some filter set wrong, but since I don't really care, I'm not about to mess with things <G>

Ah that's right. Didn't realize you had to move for that though. Where in North Jersey?I'd encourage you to just do a fresh start without worrying about the drudgery of packing. In fact, I'd be happy to help out and take some of those heavy tools from Germany off your hands so you don't have to fuss with them.Wasn't it Kant that remarked "New house, new Festools"?:)'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

We're moving to Wanaque, NJ. Exit 55 off I-287.

another BTer,Tashler, lives there. He's gonna show me the good beer places.

And I only have 1 festool product- the jig saw. I do have 2 Fein tools- the Turbo II vac, and the MultiMaster. Plus some older Bosch that was probably made in Germany.

That's nice up that way. GF from grad school lived over in Franklin Lakes. Whole new set of golf courses to conquer I'd imagine. You going to be able to keep most of your clients?'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

          7. Shep | Dec 13, 2008 05:16am | #32

Yeah, I'll be keeping most of my clients down here for as long as they want me. I'm hoping to start finding some new ones up by the new digs, just to save on the travel every day.

But it's only about 45-50 minutes back down to this area, so the commute's not too bad.

As long as traffic doesn't suck. That's always a possibility in NJ.
