Man…… it just looks so peaceful up there. I don’t know anything about your aircraft, are you flying solo? Looks like such a great way to wind down and put things back into perspective.

It is a good way to relax. I can honestly say that my stairbuilding doesnt wind me up...but I do go in circles.:)
I fly solo most of the time...but members of my family occupy the other seat on occasion.

Stan, how are rotos classified?
Meaning, do you have to operate out of an airport, or theoretically, could you zip in and out of your backyard?
You seem to be logging a lot of time...good for you!
Mongo: I have to use airports but could land on private strips. A gyrocopter needs a little runway..where as a helicopter can takeoff in the back yard.
Ok Stan, time to go back to work now. You have been playing way too much. We can tell by the amount of photos you haven't been in your shop for 2 weeks at least! :-) DanT
I sold one of those 36 foot wing-fold harrows one time. When I delivered it, I had to pull it behind a pickup packed with about 1,500 lbs. of tractor weights just to hold it in the road.
Snagged a telephone line with the furrow filler blade, which was 14 feet 10 inches off the road (the Sheriff measured it - so nice of him!) Actually broke the telephone pole off about ten feet off the ground. Sheriff said, "You're alright, boy, you can go on" Seems the regulation for the line called for it to be minimum 15 feet off the road.
Whew ! Greg
Stan, Flying over farm country seems strange, miles of farms and no farmers.
Guess at some times they're there, but mostly nobody home down there.

It's still a little early for everybody to be out in full force. They'll probably be out en mass starting next week, weather permitting. And they'll run right through May.
Also keep in mind that modern large equipment covers a lot of ground and a lot of fields. So they're not in any particular field for too long before moving on.Five out of four people have problems with math
You got it, Ron - "still a little early" but everyone here is itching to get started. Bottom plowings mostly done, fields are harrowed, we're just waiting for the soil temperature to warm up enough for germination.
If I were to hook up to a set of planters and drive around the county, EVERYONE would be planting tomorrow.
Me, I've got 700 pecan trees budding out !
Greg
Stan,
When's Ron's B'day?
We should all chip in and blow that pic into poster size and framed for him.
heh heh

You ornery son of a gun. I oughta drive up there and fix yer wagon.....
(-:
Nice perfume. Must you marinade in it?
They're closing in on you guy.......
Saw this posted over in Knots......
Question for you tool guru's. I was at the John Deere dealer yesterday and noticed they now carry their own brand of power tools. They had a cordless trim saw and drill (18 volt), and a corded drill on display. Due to the new parts counter girl being right in the steep part of a learning curve, I had a bit of time to check the saw out. Seems well made. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming.... WOW!!! What a Ride!
I've heard about them, But obviously I could never buy them. (-:
Seriously - I think they're gonna be like Craftsman tools. You never know WHAT you're buying. But you're gonna pay for the name.
Over the years, there have been rumors of a Chevy/JD pickup. I can hardly wait...Diarrhea is a hereditary illness. It runs in the family.
Ron
So how come Stan didnt get knocked down a a notch like I did ? He is far more insulting..lol
Be well

Yeah, Ron - I saw the prototype (concept vehicle) for that Chevy/John Deere "farmer special" pickup. This was around 1980 when we were all just about broke from trying to farm ( The Carter Administration )
Anyway, the prototype I saw had NO SEAT and NO STEERING WHEEL !
Are you ready ?
You've heard it before !
. . . for the farmer who's lost his a$$ and doesn't know which way to turn ! !
Greg ; )
Believe me..I am busier than I have ever been....its just that I still stick to my deal of locking the shop door at 3-or 3:30,,,no matter what. I wont miss the stairs I dont have time to build...cause they would eat in my time to fly.
I figure it this way....each day that goes by is one less day I have to fly....my health sooner or later will ground me.
I was going to comment on your sloppy turn (second pic) till I realized it was'nt a winged aircraft...Lol
Boss: Heres another deere planting corn tonight.
I wonder about those farmers who would love a framed photo of their work out in the fields..... If u ever fly over my house, I would love one!

When i was in high school(years ago) I worked for a farmer. Airplane would fly over as slow as possible and then in a few weeks someone was knocking at the door trying to sell birdseye views of your farm.
