Looking for feed back on these nail guns. I’m wondering if they are worth the $250 plus paying more for nails. Of course, the sales guy say’s it’s worth it, but I’m looking for experience. Thanks.

I have used the Paslode positive placement nailer. It works very well. Before, I was using the Senco palm nailer. The only thing I miss is the fact my shoulders got a rest when I needed a few more nails. With the gun, there is no rest. Oh and the most important part, DEFINITELY wear safety glasses! I would go so far as a face shield. I have had a few nails come back at me. One cracked my glasses.

Bostich makes a joist hanger nailer that can be found at Lowe's. The cost is around $150. It only shoots short nails that are typically used for decks. It is the biggest time saving tool out there. It shoots very good and have not had any misfired nails. If you are looking for a nailer to shoot long nails for over the top hangers, etc, look elsewhere
Hitachi positive placement nailer is one of the best guns I have. More $ than others but it saves much time . Well worth it!

have you had any problems with nails misfiring?
I've owned three different models of hardware nailers, and thus far I've been most happy with the Bostich Strap Shot nailers. I've got two of them now. They work great, they're small, light, and durable, and the price is right. If I needed a third nailer I'd buy another Strap Shot. And yes... hardware nailers are worth every penny assuming you install a fair amount of hardware.
Not quite what you are looking for but I just bought a Rigid palm nailer at HD for $79. It comes with a lifetime warranty. Not that I really care. If I get a couple of hundred joist hangers out of it for 79 bucks, I'll probably just buy another one.
The young guys who have crawled out from under there after nailing off al the hardware and mashed a couple fingers in the process say they are worth it too.

Excellence is its own reward!
I have a Bostich, well worth having, even taking into account the cost of the nails.
Since buying the nailer my guys are nailing the straps right every time with out me having to check and moan, which is what I was doing.
I have the Hitachi Strap gun. Great tool and has 2.5" capacity. If you do alot, they are worth every dime.

I tend to dislike anything that is not multi tasking. A dedicated placement nailer is great, but serves that purpose alone. Bostitich also makes a combo framer/placement gun, bigger and heavier, but does double duty. I have had one for years and love it - trouble free to date.
Let's not confuse the issue with facts!
I've used 2 styles--the Rap-a-Nail style, of which there are several manufacturers, and the Hitachi NR65.
When we first got the Rap-a-nail, I thought it was great. Quick, simple, a real time saver. Then it started vibrating itself apart...literally. Screws worked themselves out, the magazine fell off, etc. I rebuilt it, lock-titeing every screw, to no avail.
Had 2 of those, 2nd never even drove 10 nails. Got the Hitachi, and the first nail driven just made me smile. Can handle 2 lengths, plenty of power, no vibration to make your hands tingly. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.
We have a Bostitch Strapshot and I think its great. Fast and reliable. Its quite loud -louder than our Paslode framing guns - and eye protection is must.
