Does anyone know if any companies make joist hangers for older wood that is thicker…more like 1 3/4″ than the 1 1/2 stuff out there now?
Thanks,
Chris

Simpson and KantSag (USB) both make hangers for engineered lumber (I-joists and LVL) that has 1-3/4" thickness. They should work for you.
Simpson also makes hangers for rough cut in 2" sizing.

Simpson's rough dimension (2") stuff is identified by a "-R" suffix on the part number. Check their web site (http://www.strongtie.com) for availability.

as piff and dylan said,
They are readily available. Check the charts to see that the hanger will handle the load and follow the nailing schedule.
