   nah, getting older and don't do the drunk scene anymore. A couple and that's the show.

   Last night I ate something around 10pm, then fell asleep in my easy chair and woke up around 12:30am. So 2005 just sorta slunk away while I was ignoring it, and good riddance, too.

   I haven't stayed up to officially welcome in the N-Y in many moons; don't actually remember when the last time was. But gave up on the drunken orgy parties 'lo these thirty-odd years back.

   For a couple or three years running, back in happier days, me and she who was then DW used to start eating N-Y-Eve supper sometime around 6 or 7 pm, and keep on doing so, one elaborate course at a time--with me doing all the cooking between each course--right up until midnight. Accompanied by good wine, o' course, and café royale around noon next day to get the blood moving again....

   I do remember the Millennium, tho. She hadda work till the party in the hotel bar there was over, so I did the torchlight ski-down at my mountain then shagged butt over to where she worked and minded Ryan while she kept drunken parents from puking into the games in the kid's park she was running. My little guy was bright and merry right past the big Y2K arrival, playing happily with the other kids (most of whose parents were in the hotel bar spending dough), or simply toddling around the games whereever he felt like. 'Long about 1:30am on 01-01-00, he decided enough was enough all by hisself; went back into the cloakroom and made himself a bed on a bunch of coats. Zozzzzzzzzz....
