Keep Us in Mind

jimz | Posted in Business on May 8, 2007 02:58am

Our area will be doing a tour of new homes.  Want to have an inexpensive unique give-away which will keep our company’s name in mind to potential new home builders.  I think that pens, potato chip clips, etc. just get lost with the rest of the homeowner’s clutter.  Was thinking that a simple dictionary of home-building terms with our company’s name & number on the front cover might be the “ticketâ€. Does anyone know of such a booklet or have gift ideas that would keep your company’s name in front of potential clients? jimz

We give away things they will use on a daily basis.  Key chains, fridge magnets are ones you see again and again.  DanT

See?  It works lol!  I really do try to think about whether average people will use something.  Otherwise no one will see it stuck in a drawer.  DanT

Dan the best advertizing Ive seen yet is note pads and they are old as the hills . I keep seeing them of an appraisor. He has them at the closing office when we close . They are at the banks sitting on the desk. The last time I was at a closing which was a couple months I saw one from a surveyor. They are always free to take and I get several. Im looking at one now beside the puter . Better than pens IMO.

How about computer mouse pads with your company info printed on it.

we have done this, key chains, hats, pocket knives, clip board.stadium blankets, flash light but what everybody wants are those fold up beer holders. everytime they go fishing they grab the holder, football, holder, nascar, holder. and during hunting season, the orange safety hat, they is not one redneck that will buy a safety hunting hat if he can get one free, oh and your company names on it too.

I would think that the first thing that people grab when they are thinking of home renovations is a note pad and a pen. People that are a little hands on, may grab a tape measure.

If they get to the tape measure stage, they may be past the daydreaming phase, and a little more ready to get the project going. They may also just be starting to realize that the project is beyond their capacity, and they need to call in a pro....right there on their tape measure is your company name and phone number. Personalized tape measures range from $3 for 12' to around $7 for 25'.

This may work for new home builders also, People that are house hunting may bring a tape measure with them to open houses etc.
