Just how important do you guys think it is to keep standing walls dry from rain. I’ve been having a hard time doing so. I mean …. how many drenchings can a standing framed wall take before it is somehow affected by warping or something. Or .. does it really make no difference? ((I know .. it’s a rookie question))
Thanks!

That lumber has stood outside in hundreds and thousands of rainstorms. You could let it get drenched another couple hundred times before it will ruin it.
Let it dry out thoroughly before you board it.

Do not worry about the rain, just get the thing dried in a quickly as possible, but like blue says:

Straightening bowed studs is something we do after dry-in.

Blue, judging by the growth rings most of the lumber around here has stood through a few dozen storms.
Thought of you yesterday when I de-telephoned myself with the backhoe. That root has colors oh no.

It's fun f'ing things up with a backhoe isn't it?
Frank won't let me get on the skytrak unless absolutely necessary LOL! I bang the hell outa' everything with the crane too.
I wish I had an excavator!

thanks (again) guys.
I'm surprised by the answer, actually. I thought it may be worth it to attempt NOT to allow things to get soaked. 'Round here we just went through our 3rd wettest winter since the turn of the century .. that's the 19th to the 20th century ... and day after day after day I stood and watched my standing walls taking yet another drenching.
My really BIG concern is keeping the water off of the decking though. Since I'm going up floor by floor for four floors I ALWAYS have decking open to the rain ... and just under it .. those damn tji's that are supposed to remain dry. So that's been the real challenge. I'm becoming a 'master' with the tarp manipulation .. but I hate the time it kills.
Thanks again -

I worked with troubled youth building houses. They went to school half the day and worked half a day. The houses stood outside for months and months at times. Now I'm not so scared about wetting, only if it can't dry out.
