I am looking at building a new house and have been looking at the Deltec homes. Does anyone have experience in putting this type of home up, and what are the pro and con in buying a kit. Would it be cheaper to just buy the blueprint and take those to a contractor and have everything built on site.

For anyone who is interested, here is the web site for the the kit homes that Carsten is referring to.
Carsten:
What’t the cost per sq foot for one of these shell kits – delivered? And how far are you from the factory?
*
I live in Tulsa, Ok. The sq foot price is approx. 25$ dependent on size built. I think the shipping was around 2000$.
*
Is the entire kit delivered all together? Isn't that a lot of stuff to have laying around right from the get go? If the lot was small, wouldn't this get crowded?
Just wonderin',

*Carsten,I think the key to building one of these homes is the proprietary roof truss system. See if you can buy plans and the trusses from Deltec and source the common stuff locally.Good luck,Steve Hansen
