been having an absolute blast with this one- designing it with the owner who has an architecture background & an almost as wacked out sense of design as me…Lacquered hickory, Euro style with walnut inlays, mitered doors & drawer fronts (where they meet finish ends), base cabinets have drawers throughout (except under sink…) Too frickin sweet!
Corian is going in tuesday, then the really cool stuff can go up…
I’ll be baaack gb

the inlays on the island wrap around the sides & match up with the reveals from the mitered drawer fronts
wanted to carry the lines from the drawer fronts on thru in front of the sink, so...
thats rather lovely.
aleks
thank you
We all like to get good responses to our work when we show it here. Exceptional work. I can appreciate the craftsmanship. FWIW, I can't say that I particularly care for the visual effect, though.
gb: Very nice work.
very, very nice, as usual......
Nice! Great look.
thanks, Teach!!
Very cool. Very nice work.
One thing......Corian ruins the cabinets..... imo.
Stone would have been a better choice.....imo.Ditch
thanks- in regards to the counters, it was between corian & stone until the husband(who is a geologist) stated "I have to work with rocks all day, I dont want to have to look at them when I get home!" That settled that...
You're welcome......Sort of reminds me of a little wooden box!!!
I loved the cabinetwork.......
still waiting to see ya post a pic of that little wooden box...
wait til ya see the column that goes up after countertops...
thanks again...gb
When we get a digital camera........I can't wait to see the rest of the kitchen......
So, who you voting for today????
Almost forgot it was vote day. No longer a Ca. resident as of 7 weeks ago
Bet'ya a dull, chipped ,rusted skill saw blade that Arnold takes it
I'll raise you a dull pencil that you're probably right......
Solid lumber doors or veneer/ply?
migraine-
veneer that I had to spec out "planked"- without any bookmatched grain
Good, I was starting to imagine what it would look like if the whole thing was layed up out of solid lumber. Ever try vacuum pressing veneers yourself?
no, I haven't yet ventured into vacuumland- seems like it would open up lots of possibities, tho
thanks Steve- it was a joy to do. Check back in a couple days, the column & chase I put together to get gas & power to the island is really something, if I do say so myself...
greg
OK folks, counters are in, column & chase are up- what do ya think of this...
sorry 'bout that first pic bein sideways-once again...
Nice, nice, nice......

I'm not a fan of contemporary but the cabs do look good, nice work
Doug
I am a big fan of some modern/contemporary styles. Your job is is what I call "Simple yet Elegant." Very tasty.
Now, I've been know to have a skewed take on things, but is that chase twisted as well as angular? And what's it "chasing?" the pneumatic tube to the HO's bank?
Nice work, BB EliphIno!
thanks, bucksnort...
yeah, the column is a tapered, twisted, triangular, dropped a few times & had to fix kinda fun thing- inspired from the oblisk from the Zepplin "presense" album cover
Neat...way outside the box;-) EliphIno!
yeah, I been outside my box for so long now I don't even remember where I left it...
thanks, Doug
