Hi all,
I’m faced with about 24 cabinets total that I want to finish the carcase interiors with a water based poly and I don’t have a spray system. I do have a 2 hp. Campbell Hausfield Extreme Duty pancake compressor (rated at 4 gal capacity; 3.1 cfm at 90 PSI or 4.1 cfm at 40 PSI) . Is there a gun out there for a hundred dollars or so that will put out a finish of water based Polyurethane at least as good as brushing it on?
Also, If I spray, is it possible to do a decent job with the carcases assembled?
Thanks! Dave

Dave,
Manuvering a cup gun inside of a carcase is a pain. It would make it easier if you could take the backs off to gain access. Check out renting a gun with a pressure pot and at least 6' hoses. If you can't find one, try rolling the poly.
Are the backs installed on the cabs? When I spray mine I do it with the backs off. I dont know for sure but I think the new PC compressor might work. (notice the might work) some folks on other boards say it does work with a small compressor. If worse comes to worse it will take you loonger waiting for your compressor to catch up. But I think for roughly 200 bucks jewitt can hook you up with a spray out fit that will work. I use a accuspray set up thats made for a small compressor but it runs for about 400 bucks but it works great. I invested in a good system cuz I got tired of fooling around with a lessor system.
..The Home Depot has a turbine outfit on sale at the HD now for 150 bucks cuz there doing away with them( Normally 300 bucks) . I just sold mine to upgrade to a conversion gun (compressor powered)
Its a good system not great but good it'll work for ya go check it out. Its the C&H "Serious Duty" system but for 150 bucks ya cant go wrong with it...(Just remembered about that)
At Darkworks Customer satisfaction Job One..Yea yea were all over it , I ll have it done by next Tuesday Oh yea I need another draw.........
I'll definitely spray before attaching the backs, thanks for the tip. Think I'll check into that "serious duty" CH sprayer, like you say, for 150.00 you really can't go wrong.
Thanks fellas.
