steve,
Hope you don't mind, but I resized and reposted those pics. Now folks can have a quicker look and go back to the bigger files for a close up.
Nice inviting kitchen. Very pleasant. I like the countertops with that color band. Great color choices all around, too.
thanks. i didnt know how to downsize them
this job represents a weeks work and the countertop was 75% of that
the top as you can see extends into the bay window and continues all the way behind the slide in range
the edge banding is the same laminate as the actual top
the wood strip around the edge is maple stained to match the cabinets
advice on reducing picture size would be appreciated
im very new to the computing world,so what seems natural to many, isnt to me

steve,
An economical(read free download) graphics program is Irfanview. If you download it and then play around with its features for a short while, you'll learn how to resize those pics and save them in the new size in no time. (Save modified pic under same name and it replaces the original....save modified under different name and you've still got the original, too) IV also lets you crop(lasso your target and then....edit/crop selection), adjust color, and a bunch of other stuff. While it's not Adobe Photoshop, the price can't be beat and it does the basics.

I had to adjust the gamma on 3 of your pics also cause being forced to shoot into a window in broad daylight with no flash is pretty hard on the contrast. Couldn't see the cabs at all.

I just downloaded that program as per your suggestion. Pretty cool. You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Wayne Greztky
I often notice people comment on how large uploaded photo's are. It used to be a problem for me to view them untill I had broadband installed. I know is quite a bit more expensive, but if you are currently spending more than say 10 minutes a day on the internet you should really consider it. Those 650K photos tipically take about 1/4 second to upload. Trust me, once you have you can never go back. Remember, time is money.

I've had for six months and love it.You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Wayne Greztky
Jon, it loads faster but does it still overfill a 15" monitors screen? Scrolling around doesn't help me view the whole picture.

I know money doesn't grow on trees, and sometines we just get use to using what we are use to but... You might want to consider an upgrade on that 15" monitor. With the stuff that is posted and technology that is being mainstreamed, I would tend to think a 19" monitor running 1600x1280 would be the minimum nowdays. Then again, I didn't want to get broadband (though it was too much money) but my fiance' (who is persuing a Master's in E-Business insisted that we get it) changed my mind. Now I don't now how I got by without it. If a video upgrade is something you can afford, you should consider it.
Jon
Oh yeah, forgot to mention..........this means we expect to see more pics from you in the future.

Very good looking little kitchen
I like the counter top extending into the bay window, do the cabinets there go all the way back, deeper then standard?
The cabinets themselves look great and the edge in the countertop is cool.
Whats with that arched doorway in the background of #4, looks like a 6 panel door but it doesnt look like it fits into the arched opening?
thanks for the nice comments cag
the cabinets are just factory built cabinets but the great part of doing a kitchen using those is that you get a chance to be creative without the drudgery of buildin 25 melamine boxes
ive installed these cabinets for over 15 years through my local building center( they subcontract me to their customers)
lots of "high end" cabinet guys will sneer at factory "boxes" but i posted these to show that a beautiful kitchen can be created using such cabinets
of course any competent carpenter can screw cabinets to a wall, its the trim work and finishing touches that make a good cabinet installer
for instance that crown molding is 6 inch wide solid prefinished maple, and i use no wood fillers in the joints
the cabinets in front of the window are just regular 24 deep, but shimmed to be even with the sill so that the countertop fits right in to the bay
as far as software is concerned i will check out that source, i'am using a olympus digital cam with their software for downloads. any advice would be grteatly appreciated and i really appreciated the work you did on my postings
I like it. The angles are creative and practical both.
Look in the photo gallery for the Irfan view thread. We have a few tips there for using it and resizing etc.
Once you have it loaded, you can play with a photo.
Do a save as with one name and paly around with the features but then save again under a different name so you don't lose the original. Playing with the tools is the best way to learn it but you don't want to end up ruining a photo that way. There is an undo button, if you dislike what you just did with it.

Excellence is its own reward!
that 6 panel door?
it was just standing in the opening, doesnt belong there
i guess i need to be more concious of my photo backgrounds!!!
that room is next(need to make a door for that opening)
thanks again for your comments and assistance and i will definitely post more
we should all be proud of our work and share it with each other
