Just finished up this kitchen a while back – small, but had a load bearing wall that I opened up and the usual other stuff – all new drywall in dining room walls/ceilings, new drywall kitchen ceiling tied into existing plaster kitchen walls.
Did everything but the electric – subbed that out…
Wasn’t sure how the heck the crown along the pantry cabs was gonna work out, but in the end, I outdid myself and took a possible problem and made the solution actually be a nice custom detail.

Thanks - couldn't do it without my Canon 10-22mm lens...Used to be a photog for 20 years and I'll always keep a camera and computer near me...Funny thing is - the before wide pic is the one I spent the most time working on - I didn't get as good before pics as I would've hoped for: the drop ceiling had already been removed, there was #### on the counter, stuff in the kitchen -towels, trash can, etc.So I googled drop ceiling tiles and found on that was not even close perspective wise, but retouched it to work.I find that the befores are just as important as the afters -they really let folks see the "transformation".If you just show pretty pictures, they may not really grasp just how much work "you" did on the job to get it that nice. Call it the Better Homes and Garden syndrom - they've seen so many nice pics that they take it for granted some places are just nice like that. This'll show you the before and after of just the before shot itself.JT
...Had to retouch out all them little hanging wires from the stock ceiling pic and the can light and the fluorescent down fixture and than take the original fluorescent panel from the original "no-ceiling" pic and wack it around to a fairly sensible panel in the end pic.Obviously, the original drop ceiling didn't look near this nice though...JT
