Hi
I read the recent article in FHB but it lacked some info. I bought some knee pads and later discovered the cap or part that actually rests on the ground is too narrow. These things wobble over and wreck your knees!
I have been looking at getting new ones but can’t decide if quality gel type with round hard cap or quality gel type with wide square cap.
Does anyone have any advice or input for general subflooring and tiling type work?
Thanks
John

boy, with two knees still in working order..........
I still use the leather-buckle and belt pads I got well over 30 yrs ago for concrete work.
Admittedly they have two pcs of sponge carpet pad and one pc of that fibre pad stuffed in there.
And now, I picked up a scrap of NEW hi density foam carpet pad. That could be the ticket.
If you're on your knees constantly, then comfort if the thing. If you're up and down, how they stay on and don't ride down is also important. Can't help you because I've not be one for innovation, sorry.
I guess you needed one for each knee, eh?
Ergo Kneel
I started using a foam pad called ErgoKneel. This thing is very comfortable but its not something attached to your legs. So, it won't fit the bill for all jobs... like climbing around on a roof or floor joists. But for flooring or other confined spaces I like it a lot.
This topic pops up once a year or so, and IIRC, the consensus always seems to be the ones that Andy said, proknee. Pricey, but good.
A friend of mine has these and likes them:
