Knee Pads that fit in Pocket on Pants
I just bought several pair of the Bucket Boss brand work pants that have the pockets on the knees that you can slip pads in, but, can’t seem to find the pads anywhere. Every where I look seems to show them as discontinued. What I am looking for is the Bucket Boss 91500 Work Wear Knee Pads.
I know I could stick some other pad in there or cut down some kneeling pads for gardening or something, but, the Bucket Boss pads looked like they would bend better and be more comfortable.
Anyone know where I can get these? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004XOF9/qid=1101563784/sr=1-73/ref=sr_1_73/102-8664398-2393749?v=glance&s=hi
Thanks in advance,

Maybe skillers pads would work.

Thanks for the link - may have to give those a try - the pants look very similar to the Bucket Boss ones I bought - only the Skillers are twice the money.
Thanks again,

bucket boss is a fiskars brand product no?
I know (if they're the same) that they make scissors, garden snips and the like, but maybe you could search that co.

Pretty sure you are correct on Fiskars being the parent co. of Bucket Boss.
Have been to the Bucket Boss website and sent them emails with no response.
Suppose I could poke around on the Fiskars site.
Think I will just order some pads from Skillers.
Thanks again for that link - I have seen their stuff many times, but just couldn't get the old synapses to fire well enough to tell me to remind me that they had similar pads.
Thanks,
Shoe
You're welcome. Take a look at Duluth's site, they have skillers pants/knee pad's incl for 38, not the 50something normally. Have heard their stuff is quality.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Thanks ole tipi dwelling zen master.
I thought Duluth would have them also - been there, no luck.
Think I might a read a rumor in another thread about Lowes or Home Depot or someone buying Duluth out.
Seems maybe Bucket Boss has discontinues the line or something. I have sent three emails to Bucket Boss directly and have not gotten a response. Also notice that several places are discontinuing the Bucket Boss pants - no wonder I got a deal on them.

Re: Skillers pantsThe poly cotton pants I have worn for years are selling for $29.99 on the Skillers website:http://tinyurl.com/5d26sThese things wear like iron. Knee pads are extra, but you can switch one pair among however many pants you have.

I have a pair of Skillers pants and a pair of foam kneepad inserts that go with them--the pads are just chunks of hi density foam and were about eight bucks.

They make 2 styles of pads, but the foam ones are fine and the whole setup is far superior to anything you strap around the back of your leg. Never had any luck doing that.
If you ever go for Skillers pants, they're great, but my experience was that their sizing is way off. What I wear in Carhartt and Skillers are totally different... the Skillers are much bigger, by about 2 sizes. If you do not get the inseam right then the pads are in the wrong place. They will send you a free return envelope if you need to exchange the size.
I've made my own pants and pads for caving and used ensolite backpacker's sleepign pads. I like it better than the foam rubber molded construction ones and a lot better than the canoeing/volleyball kneepads. It is a stiffer foam that holds up well. About $15 and you can cut about 40 pads out of them. Not that wear out until a lot of use.
Worst comes to worst, use some heavy cardboard until you find the pads...works pretty well, but will need replacing every job.
Thanks all for the responses. I found the Skillers pads at a local supply house for flooring tools.
Seem to work pretty well. $9.00 a pair for the pads.
As to the Fiskars thing - turns out they sold the Bucket Boss brand to some other company (name escapes me now) about a year ago and the new company dropped the clothing lines and just makes the organizers, bags, briefcases, etc.....every thing Bucket Boss that wasn't considered work wear.
Thanks again for the responses,
